LONDON: Microsoft officially opened its first European store on Oxford Street, in London on 11 July 2019.

The 22,000 sq ft store over three floors is only a short walking distance away from the Apple store on Regent Street Apple store.

The store features a McLaren Senna car customised as an Xbox driving simulator for gaming fans and a community education centre where children can play and learn to code.

Microsoft will offer 200,000 hours of free workshops to school children and people who want to gain digital skills.

Microsoft’s UK CEO, Cindy Rose, said the new store, which will employ 150 staff, was a mark of the firm’s continued commitment to the UK market, where it already employed 5,000 people.
